First Two Teeth!! | Victoria, BC Portrait and Pet Photographer

Matthew has had an exciting month, he got two new teeth and was more than happy to show them to all of you in his 5 month shoot.  We did the session on the 26th, which would have been my dad's 65th birthday.  He would have adored these two for sure.  I am including a few of the getting ready photos.  Setup to a perfect shoot:

1.  Find shady area in the yard.

2.  Layout the blanket and watch for dog poop.

3.  Watch as dogs both go and lay down on the blanket as we have obviously put it there for them.

4.  Get camera ready and drop baby in picture as Maddie decides to stay and rolls over on her back.

This is my last 365 post for a couple of weeks as headed to Alberta to attend some dog events (look forward to ton of new dog pics for the 365).

My nephew Johnny had his first sleepover at Aunty's this week.  This was taken just before bedtime a Aunty getting bed ready and Johnny watching a bit of Elmo's World.  Johnny knew how to say Mess before Aunty.

Sometimes you just need to push the shutter because it is pretty....eventhough they are most likely weeds!  This was one of those days at a plain old field walking the dog.

Soon....Mr. Blackberry....we won't be able to walk here without stopping for a small treat.

Makes me homesick for home....reminds me of wheat :(

Miss Maddie | Victoria, BC Portrait and Pet Photographer

Miss Madison is my first weim.  She will be 10 years young next month.  My sister and I co-owned Maddie until she was 1.5 years old and then I lost her in the custody agreement (albeit I was moving to Calgary where the abundance of Koping Weims was great).  Messina is my soul dog--the one that has gotten me through a lot of things and whom has been through a lot of things.  BUT Maddie, she was my first weim....very special place in my heart.  She lives with my sister's family and we see her a lot.  She spent the weekend at my house recently and so couldn't resist a photo shoot.  I told her that she will get her own birthday shoot at the beach for her 10th birthday, with ice cream as well.  Most of the pics are just Maddie but I am going to start with a few of Maddie and Messina together.  My sister always says that Mess and Maddie really don't like each other, they tolerate each other.  She always said the Messina and Maddie used to parallel play and the first two pics I think illustrate this perfectly.  Since Messina has been sick and recovering, it is like they have a new appreciation of each other I think.  Enjoy and check out Maddie's birthday session in mid-August.

When Baby Matthew arrived 10 days early, editing the maternity pics went to the bottom of the pile.  We had done an urban session at 35 weeks, these one at 37.  I thought it was appropriate to post these on the day Matthew turns 5 months old.  This was also the headless shoot, hehehe.  We were working inside with small background so lots of tight crops.
