We were hoping to do Cheryl's maternity session today...(you will have to wait maybe until next weekend) but it is raining, ugh.  So instead I went into the backyard to take some pictures of this tree.  When we were kids, my dad used to stop and go into the ditch to pick pussy willows from the ditch in the spring.  I remember him being very wet when he came back.  Cheryl has a tree that has pussy willow like foliage during the "winter" but has leaves and beautiful pink flowers in the spring and summer.  I couldn't resist with the water drops and another tryptich day...couldn't decide which one I liked the most!

Messina Bina

My new favourite action shot........Out this week playing with the 70-200...man is it nice.  The smooth background, the focus.  I love the ears, the drool, the eyes, and the green grass.  This was my 4th week for 52 Weeks of Dogs this week.

Out at the field and couldn't decide on one of these silly faces, so needed to do a storyboard...Do you think she is tired of her mom ALWAYS having the camera with her.

I know this looks like yuck...but it is actually a yawn.  I love the colors...too bad didn't get the whole bottom jaw in, but just practicing some obedience at lunch time on the deck (that is green rails and green grass in the background).

Another busy day and leash walk after work......and a stop to get the mail!

So I know I am behind on posting :) but my goal in February is not to post more than 3 days at a time.  So here comes 25-30.  Love the color of these monkey bars just down the street from my house.  Mess and I went for a leash walk before it got dark after work with camera in tow to see what we could find!

Just a picture of one of the 6 pages I finished this weekend while scrapbooking with my sister.  This is her wedding, only 2.5 years behind!!

23 | 365

My sister and I spent the day and evening scrapbooking.  Messina of course needed to be where we were and Cheryl's words were...Are you kidding me, she is going to sit behind you on the office chair?  Yep she is!!!  Ok maybe she is a bit spoiled.

Kettle Brand Baked Salted Chips = Favourite Treat
Only 3 points on Weight Watchers for 27 chips.  Gotta love it!!

Messina DOES NOT like cleaning.  When I clean the house, she moves from the hallway to the bathroom and just watches, doesn't settle.  She likes it as much as I do!!!   I turned around and there she was, so grabbed the camera, threw on the flash and shot away.

Johnny out enjoying puddles....but I loved this one with the little cheek poking out from under the hat AND isn't that the cutest tractor raincoat!

Messina | Victoria BC Portrait Photographer

Messina and I played around at the park yesterday with the lens that I am borrowing. It was a lot of fun and I got some great shots. Here are a few of them.  This first one was a great capture.....reminds me of a ballerina, toes pointed, airborne, and a shadow too!

Just practicing some obedience at lunch hour today.  Promise no more dogs this week!!

18 | 365

Trying out a new lens that I am using from a good friend.  Finally a sunny day and we headed out to the gravel pit for some fun.  Got quite a few good shots (see another posting), but this one is one of my favourites.

Another shot from the agility trial, this is the "big" guy sitting behind us.  He was a sweety and just relaxed with his head down between the runs.

16 | 365

Spent the weekend at an agility trial in a very dark barn, so didn't take a lot of pictures.   This one was taken of Mess while she was "studying" the course.

After being away for a lot of last week and a lot of rain, Messina and I took a walk to the walkway by Florence Lake to watch the ducks!

Really trying to get more active this year......Mess and I BOTH don't like the rain much, so there my runners sit last night.  I could hardly convince Messina to go out and potty, never mind go for a walk.

It was late on Wednesday evening and I am exhausted as just got home from Calgary.  Didn't have a chance to even pull my camera out today, so here I am taking a picture of votive holders to have a photo for today, not good on day 13!!!

Calgary really is a lovely city.....I couldn't just decide on what photo for the 12th.  Tuesday night after a long day at work, I snapped a few shots of the buildings on my way to dinner.  This is a new building that is next to the hotel...it is actually blue and very reflective, but I loved the shot in black and white.  Then I went to dinner with my new co-workers and the glass of red wine just called my name.  Finally, took a walk down by the Bow River--it was +5 out and got this shot of a lonely bench.

Spent a few days in Calgary for work, but fit in a visit with my cousin and some Weim friends.  This is Messina's family.  Her Mom Paige, Grandma Taylor, Uncle Kenzie and new great niece? Pink.  Pink's brother is still around too...will share some more puppy photos next week.  This was my favourite from the session.

Johnny Russ is no longer a one trick pony.  This means he is starting to have a huge repetoire of new words (well maybe 30 or so).  He LOVES my camera, and I let him sit on my knee and press the shutter button to take pictures, which he loves ESPECIALLY if the flash goes off.  It was dark already out and we were eating supper and I said say cheese for your picture, and he just did it and gave this big goofy grin.  So I said it again and again, big grin and "cheese".  I know I could have called this "see food" too...hehehe.

This is what Victoria looks like in January.  The flower boxes are dead, but it is warming up and soon the flowers will begin to bloom out of these boxes!

Newborn Baby N | Victoria BC Portrait Photographer

She really was the sweetest little thing.  Just under 10 pounds at 5.5 weeks old.  We just played for an hour, so no chance for sleeping, and she wanted to see what was going on.  Enjoy the sneak peak Mom and Nana Kathy.

This is my favourite shot from a newborn (well not quite, little N. is about 5 1/2 weeks).  She was visiting with her nana for the weekend who is a dear friend of mine.  She was cute as a button and wide awake the whole time and not a peep out of her!!  I honestly was trying to figure out how I could take her with me.  See a few sneak peaks in the next post.

Krystos Razdayatsia - phonetic spelling is terrible!!  Translation...Christ is born - Merry Ukrainian Christmas.  After a morning of gift opening, we left my brother in law cooking a big turkey dinner, and Cheryl, Johnny Russ, and the dogs headed out for a walk to the park.  It was overcast and cloudy today and it was after 4pm...but still managed to get some great shots of Cheryl and Johnny playing on the slide.  And YES that is Messina in the bottom of the picture.  I had a leash in my left hand and the camera in the right.

This couple is in love!!  Not hard to get them to kiss.  We had a blast hanging out in downtown Victoria in the am and then down to the beach in the afternoon.  Here is a little sneak peak of their special day.  PS  This is no traditional couple!  Thanks guys for making the day a blast.  Good luck, 2010 is going to be an exciting year for you both.
