Messina and I are doing agility this weekend.  The first shot is peeking out from her crate.  The 2nd one is one I took outside on the bleachers at the fairgrounds for my 52 Weeks of Dogs project.  LOVE the way the blown out overcast, drizzly sky turned out in this high key shot.

I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.  I have been fighting a cold for well over a week and have taken out stock in Buckley's, ugh.

56 | 365

Last shot with mom before heading home from the hospital.  Little Matthew is cute as a button!

55 | 365

My new nephew has arrived.  Matthew arrived safe and sound this morning.  He is a darling, more pictures to come.  Couldn't decide on just one today so here are 2.

Pink skies at night, sailors delight, pink skies in the morning, sailors take warning.  The view off my desk on Tuesday morning around 630 am, I had to grab my camera.

Just hanging in the sun and sick of her mom taking her picture all the time.

365 Progress.....my thoughts

I wondered how hard it would be to do this project, it is not hard, but the computer work involved is what is getting behind!  I caught up to yesterday, Sunday, February 21st for posts.  I have taken today's pictures but need to download to computer--tomorrow's project.  I really hoped to post everyday, but that is becoming more and more difficult (as you can tell from the last few weeks of posts with 7 days in one day of posts).  I am not failing at the project, just the posting...so will continue through.  The next few weeks will be busy ones, but tons of inspiration.  I am at an agility trial this weekend and then in Calgary next week for a few days, as well as patiently (or NOT) waiting for my new nephew to arrive (officially March 6th).  My goal is to continue to capture shots everyday, but don't stress about when I post.  So I hope you keep checking out the blog even if you don't see postings everyday.  I have some maternity shots of Cheryl that I am working on this week as well so should post by the end of the week as well.

52 | 365 Frosty morning......

Although we have had almost a week of great weather, the last few mornings of the agility seminar were frosty. This was the railing outside the barn as the warm 8am sun started to melt the frost off of the railing. I liked the lines and the very shallow depth of field.

51 | 365 Agility ROCKS!!!

I spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at an agility workshop with Stacy Peardot-Goudy (had a blast). The lighting in the barn is terrible, but caught this shot of one of her dogs (don't remember which one it is). I think it really sums up the weekend...find the most efficient path, couldn't have jumped that corner any tighter and look at the look in the eyes....love it.

This is my first weim (I lost custody of her to my sister when I moved to Calgary, hehehe). Maddie will be 10 this summer. She has always been a suckler of her toys. This psychedelic bunny came with her from our breeder and cousin Pat. It has been washed, sewn, and repaired more times than we can count. Messina is NOT allowed to play with it as she is sometimes too rough and shakes it and it is fragile. She is relaxing waiting for Johnny to come home from the hospital.

49 | 365 Trooper.....

Poor little Johnny had to spend 2 nights in the hospital with some respiratory issues from Wed to Fri.  He is home now and doing much better. I came to the hospital to help entertain the little 20 month old who didn't want to be contained in a crib (he sleeps in a big boy bed at home, thank you very much). He loves auntie's camera so I brought it along as a distraction so he could take some pictures-loves the buttons, but also really likes to look at them on the lcd screen too.  I captured this moment....it is special picture as it was a stressful time that Johnny came through like a Trooper!  Even saying uh-oh every time the machines beeped!

48 | 365 Walk It!

It was a crazy week last week, this was another shot similar to the one I took for 52 Weeks of Dogs. It is a 10 foot drop to the lower back yard, but Mess is convinced it is the best place to walk for a better view of the backyard.

47 | 365 Spring has Sprung!!!

I have taken this picture before BUT Tuesday was plus 12 here in Victoria and one of our first really nice days. When I came home for lunch, Messina said it is officially spring and warm enough to sunbathe on the deck....she has missed this and so have I!

46 | 365 GOLD!!!

No I wasnt' there.....but I couldn't help but take some shots of the TV....yes the tv!

What a great moment for Alexandre Bilodeau!

45 | 365 Going for Gold

Messina was so tired watching Alexandre Bilodeau win Canada's first Gold Medal on home soil.  It was very exciting!

The front page of the Victoria Times Colonist....Let the games and fun begin!!

43 | 365

Just hanging watch the Olympic Opening Ceremeonies on Friday night.  Johnny didn't want to cooperate and look at the camera, but the idea is there, athletes and future athlete???

42 | 365

This is what 37 weeks pregnant looks/feels like.  My sis came over to do a bit of scrapbooking for nursery and Messina "convinced" her to take a little nap with her on the couch.

41 | 365

I was babysitting Johnny after work on Wednesday and this shot never gets old for me.  Watching for "frucks".  Love that pouty mouth!

40 | 365

There is a local Vancouver Island company called Udder Guys.  They make the best ice cream.  My favourite is Roasted Coconut....better than any chocolate ice-cream I have tasted.  Yes I eat right out of the container, but then put it back in freezer for next time half way through because I like it really frozen.

Just a simple shot of a weed out the dog park this week.

38 | 365

Lazy rainy day today....watching curling!  I love when Mess sleeps like this, can you see all 4 of her legs?  I took about 15 shots from different angles and finally she opened her eyes and looked at me like "really, did you have to wake me up?
And a couple of bonus shots, playing around with on camera flash for my 52 Weeks of Dogs project.

37 | 365

Cheryl treated me to a pedicure and lunch today.  I hung out by the Delta well she had her massage first.  I was just playing around and I had some good flower shots (but planted ones, not sprouting ones), so I decided a shot of the tree without leaves in black and white was a bit more dramatic AND soon it will be full of green buds!

36 | 365

One of Johnny's favourite new words over the last month or so is "uh-oh".  Sometimes it is cute, like when he says it when the timer goes off on the stove, or the grinder on the coffee maker, sometimes the phone, or when the cell phone beeps.  But he also does it when he throws the piece of steak off the high chair to Mess, or knocks the book off the bunk, like it was an accident!  Cheryl and Johnny met me for coffee and we were sitting in the coffee shop and the barista started up the coffee grinder and immediately Johnny put his hand to his ear to listen and said uh-oh!  Doesn't the face tell it all!

There is a great spruce tree just off my deck.  It was raining and foggy today, so light was nice and soft.

Fleuri | Victoria BC Portrait Photographer

A few more shots of Fleuri (Mess's best buddy) on our walk on Monday.  Lighting wasn't great....will work on getting a few more good ones soon!
The first one is Fleuri mult-tasking...hmmmm do I have to sit here, I smell something over THERE!

34 | 365

I don't usually shoot pictures of food...but this looked soooo good, tasted good too!  Broccoli, beef, and spinach stirfry over fettucine noodles.

33 | 365

Another closeup headshot of Mess.....busy day!

32 | 365

A late dog run with Messina's friend Fleuri led to this photo.  Late in the day, very overcast, in the dark cover of the trees, but still managed to get a few shots.  Stay tuned later today for a few more posts of Fleuri.

Johnny | Victoria BC Portrait Photographer

Of course as his aunty, I think he is the cutest little boy in the world.  Just a little day out at the park on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon.  The first one is my new favourite.....looking for "tucks" and holding mommy's hand.

Is this face not saying....."did you say I am getting a baby BROTHER?"  Thought I heard puppy!!

Ask Johnny..."what do you hear" - pointing and listening for "apwanes".

This last one makes me smile.....love that face.

Cheryl Maternity Part 1 | Victoria BC Portrait Photographer

Cheryl (my GORGEOUS sister) and I went downtown in Victoria for an urban session for her maternity shots.  Her and I are convinced the little guy is not waiting for his due date on March 5th, so are going to do another shoot in a couple of weeks as well.  I have a lot more to edit and will post this week, but wanted to get a sneak peak up right away.
This first one could be my favourite.  It screams------"Two kids under 2.....BRING IT ON!"
