Chrissy + Mike | Wedding Photographer Winnipeg, MB
Family.......if you follow my blog or facebook page, you know that family is important to me. I come from a large extended family, my mom is one of 9 children. We grew up getting together at Christmas and holidays at my Grandma and Grandpa's house, 9 children, their spouses and 17 grandchildren and then their spouses and great grandchilren. Our grandparents are gone now, but we all stay connected still and when we see each other again after much too long it is like we were never apart. There is a group of "older" cousins - 9 of us that are within 6 years from youngest to oldest. Then there are the group of "younger" cousins, which Chrissy (sorry you will always be Chrissy to me) is a part of. She is 10 years younger than me, but we have always been close. I remember going to university in the early 1990's and living at my grandparents' house and she lived across the street. She always wanted to just hang out with her older cousins, she did a lot of our chores I remember :) just so she could be around. I remember her singing Britney Spear's "Baby One More Time" in the backseat of my car. Oh how times have changed.
I had the honor of capturing Chrissy and Mike's wedding a few weeks back in Winnipeg, Manitoba. For me it was old home week, getting to visit with old friends and family, especially the cousins. I got involved in wedding prep which I love (now I know how to make beautiful crepe paper flowers Aunty Janet). The outdoor location in her own backyard was perfect for this couple, laid back and relaxed. We really had a great time, a lot of laughs and yes a few tears. I think I only had to put the camera down once or twice to wipe away the tears.
Congratulations Chrissy and Mike, your day was beautiful and special. Enjoy your new life together!
