Baby E. | Newborn Photographer Victoria, BC

Baby E's older sister is a very good friend of my nephew.  He arrived a bit early so was about 6 weeks old here, but only about 2 weeks from actual due date.  Although he is still a little munchkin, he did not want to sleep.  We tried everything.  Oh well, I guess he wanted us to capture his beautiful grey blue eyes.  The swaddling made him very happy though.
My favourite.....you can just imagine what he is thinking.

Pure sweetness.

Here comes trouble!

352-365 | Gingerbread Making---Or Eating!

Johnny and I made a gingerbread house on Saturday.  Johnny ate way more smarties and jelly beans and white royal icing (yuck) than what he put on the roof of his house.  He also enjoyed the Chysmus music and chair danced while we built our house.

Candy, what candy????

Groovin to Chysmus music.
Can you see the fingerprints where the icing was scooped off the roof and eaten :)

351-365 | Technology

This was going to be a post about the gingerbread houses that we saw at the Laurel Point Inn today (by the way they were very cool).  Johnny did like them, but more than that, he thought the pay phone was the greatest thing. Obviously he had never seen one, and while we were taking a pic of Matthew by the gingerbread man, Johnny was talking away to "someone" on the phone.  Then he said that there was no one there.  We decided to phone Grandma in Manitoba and he was thrilled.

350-365 | More lights

LOVE the bokeh in these.

349-365 | Big Rig

Johnny has had a rough week, with the afternoon in emergency with a terrible cough, so when he want with his mama to the store and was a very good boy, he got a new big rig.  He DID NOT want his picture taken, so I thought the big rig and toys were enough!

348-365 | Rudolph???

Johnny and I spent the afternoon making reindeer.  I thought they should all be Rudolph's with red noses, but Johnny thought they should all have different color noses.  He was in charge of glueing eyes and noses on the reindeer, so it was his choice for the color.  We decided that they were sooo cute, we made some more later in the week with bigger candy canes and now there is a whole family of reindeer hanging on the window.

347-365 | Fractor

Johnny's ornament from last year, a fractor.  Johnny was very happy to see it!

346-365 | Out of the Mouth of Babes

Johnny was sooo cute decorating the Cystmus tree.  He wanted to stand on the stool to put some higher and he was very serious, between dancing to Christmas music.  At one point, he put one of the ornaments on and said, "it's perfect."  Yes, Johnny, you are perfect.

345-365 | TADA

Johnny's graduation from gymnastics.  Just a snapshot, but doesn't he look like, it is "just" a ribbon, what is everyone sooo excited about.

344-365 | Santa

Santa......this was a great one.  I love when they have the real beard.  We went to UVIC to see Santa.  I can't share the pics with Santa (being used for Christmas presents), but had to share one of Santa and a couple of Mr. Matt.  He is sooo darn cute.  Johnny moved too fast this day to catch any pic of him.

Loved the lighting on this shot, and thought a little vintage processing would be fun.

343-365 | Advent Calendar

My nephew has finally gotten into his Countdown to Chysmus calendar, it is sooo cute.  He has to choose a magnet out of the bag everyday and cover he right day.  Everyday his mom has planned something Christmassy to do.  A few days later, Johnny did the cutest thing.  He was choosing his magnet and they stuck together so he had to choose between a mitten and an angel.  He said, "the angel, like Aunty Ori."  Isn't that the cutest!!

342-365 | Lights

I love Christmas lights, especially as a photographer as the out of focus lights are beautiful.  This is one shot of a few in the next few weeks.

341-365 | Holiday Swag

The K. Family | Portrait Photographer, Victoria BC

The K. Family are friends of my sisters, and honestly I have been dying to take pics of these cutie pattootie girls. Miss M. and Miss L. were great sports on the cold beach.  M. is a natural model and L. had to be bribed a bit with Iggle Piggle or the laughing duck but it worked.  Also I am a sucker for a serious face, so you will see a few of those in the sneak peak as well!.

I LOVE the light in this one, I think one of my favourites from the session.  Really screams, "we live in sunny Victoria in DECEMBER!"

Such a serious face, I love the stare.  I think she was looking for butterflies in the lens!

You have got to be kidding lady!

Every set of parents NEEDS to have pics of them since their wedding.  I think we managed to do that.

Miss M. doing her best America's Next Top Model.

I really love the light in these ones.  Love winter backlighting.

340-365 | I will miss you Jill-E

My camera bag is going in for repairs, oh I will miss her!

339-365 | Special Rainbows

Rainbows have a special meaning to me.  When my Dad passed away there was a huge rainbow on the day of the service.  It poured and stormed only like August in Manitoba can and then out came the sun and this beautiful rainbow.  From that day on, rainbows have shown up at times that were challenging or tough, almost like Dad needed to know that he was around.  Well Sunday, I had a meeting with a client to order prints, when low and behold a huge rainbow, completely across the sky.  I quickly grabbed my camera, but didn't have a wide angle lens with me, so only got to get one end.  It was getting late, but I loved the lighting on this, looking over the inner harbour her in Victoria, towards the Parliament Buildings.  I guess an angel arrived and Dad just wanted to make sure that we knew Grandpa got there safe and sound :)

338-365 | The Eyes of a Child

John Russell has a strong name. His first name comes from both sides of the family, but for me, John comes from our Grandpa, John Payjack.  Russell was my Dad who passed away in 2006.  As we were headed out to the Christmas Light Parade tonight, my Mom phoned to tell us that our Grandpa Payjack had passed away.  Cheryl and I were crying, and Johnny kept asking, "What happened, what happened."  We told him that Mama and Aunty were sad and Johnny said (in only the way a 2.5 year old can say), "Mama, Johnny sad too."  We went off to the parade and after a few more tears we had a great time.  To watch the joy in Johnny's face as he saw all  his favourite trucks, buses, big rigs, fire trucks was sooo fun.  He even did a little "chair dancing" on his Dad's shoulders.  This was my favourite shot from the evening.
Miss you Grandpa, say hi to Grandma and Dad for me.....L

337-365 | Snap, Crackle, and POP

First time Johnny had Rice Krispies, holiday version as well.  I had to show him how to listen for the snap, crackle and pop.  We ate a lot of Rice Krispies as kids :)

336-365 | Mattie, Matt, Matt

I am babysitting Mattie Matt....I have to grab the camera when he gives me this look!!

Matt looking disgusted that Messina is checking out his tray, but I think it was actually a yawn!

335-365 | Park Day

Matthew loves the swings and Johnny...well he loves everything and if I can get him to stop to look into Aunty's camera......BINGO!

334-365 | Perfect View on a Windy and Cold Day

333-365 | Messina and Maddie

Both girls got to come for a walk with my sister and nephews and decided to stop for some pics.

332-365 | Berries

Saw these on my walk today and came back with my camera.
